On Sunday, February 7th, Folkshul will hold our annual Souper Sunday event, which raises funds for the Mitzvah Food Project, AND provides us with a wonderful community event where families and friends can share a meal, enjoy some exciting Klezmer music, and learn more about our neighbors in need and what we can do to help.

Children have been decorating mugs and bowls which will be sold to raise money. Families will bring homemade soup and bread to share. Volunteers will heat, serve, and clean up our soup feast. Leftovers will be packed up and brought to a soup kitchen for clients there to enjoy. Funds raised will be used by several of our classes to purchase food for the Mitzvah Food Project.

This is a many-layered community project and we need your help to make it a success. Set up starts at 10 AM and clean-up is usually done by 1PM. Please complete the attached sign-up form and return it via email to Rob Wexler rlwexler@verizon.net or print it and leave it in the Souper Sunday folder at Folkshul this Sunday. Please note that anyone who has not had a chance yet can do their painting this Sunday (1/31.) Adults are very welcome to paint a bowl or mug, too!

We are also in need of a few SOUPER folks to help with the following special requests:

·        Plastic quart containers for us to transport leftovers

·        Volunteer to arrange for bread pickup from supermarket or bakery.

·        Delivery person to take leftovers to Face to Face/St. Vincent’s in Germantown for their clients to enjoy (around 1:00 PM).

Fill out the attached sign-up form and return it via email to Rob Wexler at rlwexler@verizon.net or print it and leave it in the Souper Sunday folder at Folkshul and let us know how you can help!
