About the event
Ilya Knizhnik, a long-time Folkshul member and a passionate advocate for Ukraine, will share his personal family history and its deep ties to Ukraine, shedding light on the broader Jewish-Ukrainian experience over the past 150 years. The presentation will cover key topics such as the impact of anti-Semitism, the evolving relationship between Jews and Ukraine, and the complexities surrounding Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The session will also highlight Knizhnik’s role in co-founding Ukraine TrustChain, an innovative non-governmental organization dedicated to providing critical humanitarian aid, evacuating civilians from war zones, and rebuilding Ukraine’s war-torn regions. Knizhnik will discuss how the community can support Ukraine’s ongoing needs and the efforts of Ukraine TrustChain, which has delivered aid to millions, evacuated over 65,000 people, and rebuilt thousands of homes.
