Learn, sing, and play together
Sunday Fundays is a free program for children ages 0-4 and their caregivers. Sunday Fundays meets on select Sundays throughout the school year. On Sunday Fundays, participants will join together with Folkshul’s Kindergarten and first grade students and families for songs, crafts, story time and more. It’s a great way to celebrate the holidays and the seasons, get to know our Folkshul community, and get a taste of what life is like in our Sunday School classrooms!
For the 2026-27 school year, we have two sorts of Sunday Funday days: Celebration Days, when Sunday Funday families are invited to join the Folkshul community for our community-wide holiday celebrations; and Classroom Days, when Sunday Funday families are invited to join our K-1 students and their families in the classroom. On Classroom Days, our amazing K-1 teacher, Beth Conn, will lead a morning of stories, activities, and lots of hands-on learning together.

Celebration Day
Sukkot Celebration: Join us for our annual Sukkot celebration, including music, crafts and games, lots of outdoor fun, and for those interested, a community walk and clean up nearby in the Wissahickon. This is a rain or shine event. In the event of inclement weather, we’ll move the celebration indoors.

Classroom Day
Join our Sunday school students in the classroom and learn about Jewish heroes and role models through stories, songs, and crafts.

Tzedakah & Gratitude: Learn about Tzedakah and gratitude through songs and crafts. Join our Sunday School students in making Thanksgiving baskets to share with our local community.
December 6

Celebration Day
Celebrating Chanukah: Explore Chanukah rituals like lighting the menorah and spinning the dreidel. Join our Folkshul community for our annual Chanukah celebration!

Day of Service in Observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Join Folkshul families for a day of service in our local community.

Classroom Day + Celebration Day
Souper Sunday: Join the K-1 class to learn about the importance of mitzvot and service. Then, join Folkshul for a favorite annual community event. Gather with us to enjoy homemade soups and work towards helping to end food insecurity in the Philadelphia area.

Purim Celebration: Explore Purim stories, songs, and fun. Watch our Sunday School Purim performance and play at our Purim Carnival! Costumes strongly encouraged.

Passover Community Model Seder: Join our community Seder and experience the foods and customs of Passover in a warm and friendly community setting.
